You probably didn’t know about Ken’s alter ego, did you? Well, it rocks. He rocks.
He’s been running Adventure Records for 10 years now, ever since he moved to Colorado and saw a) what awesome musicians we have and b) how much more we could do to support them.
Since then, he’s focused on helping bands get the word out, including this great new indie band, The Yawpers. They’ve been getting a lot of press lately and are going to be out at South by Southwest this weekend, in case you happen to be in the neighborhood. If you’re looking for something a little closer, check out their website for upcoming shows–these guys are really making the rounds, that’s for sure. Best live show I’ve seen in a while, and I’m not joking about that one. These guys really rock.
I’m super-excited about this show on Saturday, too. (This is probably the point where I should publicly thank Ken for keeping me on the local music scene and keeping me out of the ‘totally clueless parent category’.) Adventure Records always comes out with some really great compilations, and this one’s no exception. Plus, we’re going to be rocking out at this neat new place, Shine. If you can’t make that one, we’ll catch you next weekend in Denver, at the hi-dive.
Party on, dude.
